MXR Micro Chorus (MX-148)

made in Rochester/NY, 1981

MXR Micro Chorus, early 1981 non-LED version

Though the Micro Chorus complemented the MXR effects pedals family quite late, it made up for the ranks of MXR classics such as Phase 90, Dyna Comp or Micro Amp. It delivers a stunning range of rich chorus textures from sparkly watery shimmers to intense rotating speaker simulation with a twist of the Rate control. The heart of the vintage Micro Chorus is a bucket brigade Reticon SAD512 chip which is considered noisy but is good for warm analog sounds like no other.
